Physique Transformation Testimonial
Last January Lyris created a weight/marathon training program for me because I had a goal to run a full marathon. The program she created was excellent! I teach and coach full time and the she developed a program that was very manageable, yet pushed me to achieve my personal best. Following her program helped improve my running time and strength. I achieved my goal, running a full marathon in September.
Throughout my training Lyris would check in with me regularly. She encouraged me, pushed me and gave me important advice for stretching. Her program and training helped me to run injury free.
An important aspect of the program Lyris created is the variety. There was never a time where I was frustrated or feeling as if I was doing the same thing day in/day out. Whether it was each week or each month, there was a change to my program that took me to the next level, gave me new perspective and new energy.
Lyris has also created a personal nutrition plan for me. It is important to me to be healthy and fit but since having children, I had put on a lot of extra weight and quit working out. At 195 lbs., I was depressed, tired and unhealthy--I did not want to be overweight and I was frustrated at how I had let myself go. Sports have always been a big part of my life and suddenly I no longer felt like and athlete-- let alone looked like one. Working out and running had always been my outlet and it was gone because I thought I was too busy. I had to choose to make health and working out a priority in my life. It was really important for me to look at the big picture. If I got too focused on each day and each pound I had to lose or how out of shape I was, it seemed impossible. I couldn’t expect instant results and I finally just focused on eating healthy and getting my workouts in. Suddenly a couple months had gone by, I could run farther, lift more and I had lost some of the weight.
Now I am at 155 and finished a full marathon! I never thought I could get here, but I did it. I am really thankful I could lose a large part of the weight I had gained, but I still need to lose more weight to achieve my personal goal. Lyris has created a new training and nutrition program for me to help me get there. The new program she developed is awesome. The meal plans are clearly outlined, with a variety of healthy food choices that are satisfying and simple to make.
My weight-training program fits my schedule and leaves my weekends free to focus on family, etc. When I discussed my goals with Lyris, she took me seriously, encouraged me and told me I could do it. I really value the fact that as my trainer, she made me feel my goals were attainable. Staying on my nutrition plan had been a challenge for me--for awhile I lost my willpower. When I told Lyris, she didn’t give up on me, but she also gave me perspective and put the responsibility on me. I am excited to see what I can achieve from here. I have worked with Angela for almost 1 year now. She has had her ups and downs, but for the most part has gotten back on that horse each time and is continuing to get closer to seeing the results she has always only dreamed of. She sometimes forgets how far she has come - she has lost over 30 lbs and finished a full mararthon. She is a true joy to work with, and despite what she thinks, has great will power and work ethic - and she WILL achieve the results she has been looking for in 2007. It will be exciting to post her next set of progress pictures and watch her physique transformation as it continues to unfold.
